Alexandra Labaisse: June 12 – August 23

“My name is Alexandra Labaisse, and I was born and raised in Texas, but I’m more curious about the rest of the world than here. I graduated from Hirschi High School at 2018, with an IB Diploma and a class rank of #7. I seriously got into art at 5th grade, but I wouldn’t explore my full potential until high school.

I’m displaying both digital and traditional artwork with an emphasis on character design. Though I have a few traditional pieces featuring my characters, most of this exhibit is digital work focused on introducing my characters and providing a background on some of them.

I really like the process of character design, from the making of their backstories to drawing out their actual designs. I’m challenging myself to draw out my characters and then draw them in the world they live in. I particularly like to design robots.

I enjoy the layering involved with colored pencil work, as well as sketching and coloring digitally.” ~ Alexandra Labaisse
