Artist Reception: Jason Bly – October 29

Artist Reception: Jason Bly “They Always Said This Day Would Come”

Date: Thursday, October 29
Place: The North Light Gallery at The Kemp
Time: 5:30 – 7:30 pm

Join us for the opening reception of our North Light exhibit featuring the work of Jason Bly.

Mr. Bly is currently an Associate Professor at MSU Texas in painting and drawing. In his current work, he creates oil paintings that explore the connections between technology, simulation, and the everyday experience. Traditional paintings methods are used to mimic graphic design sensibilities combined with realistically painted objects from life. Through layering several thin layers of oil, a trompe l’oiel technique renders an environment of imagery related to the multitude of visual stimuli which we encounter everyday.

Social distancing will be in place to provide safety to all our guests.  The opening reception will be held in the gallery and the adjoining ballroom.  Masks are required on entry to the building.
