The Mission of Cowboy True is to educate the region about the honor, art, and beauty of the cowboy’s daily life.  Cowboy True is a celebration to honor working cowboys and the artwork that comes from their daily lives.

Each year we exhibit artists who represent the “Cowboy True” way of life, along with fun”cowboy” activities and some great food and music.  One of our 2020 activities is our kids’ poetry contest.  Poems will be judged by professional poets and displayed at Cowboy True.

Winners will receive a savings account at Texoma Community Credit Union in the amounts of $100, $50 and $25 (for First, Second, and Third Places in each category).  Cash donations will also be given to each school attended by placing winners.

Winners will also have an opportunity to read their poems during the event!

Poems should reflect the question “What does being ‘Cowboy True’ mean to you?”  Think about cowboy life, work, values. Cowboys are living stewards of our environment with a long, heroic history in our region. We want to hear what YOU think “Cowboy True” means.
