Region 9 Distance Learning and Virtual Tours Programs

Virtual Tours

Educational Field Trips Without Leaving School

The Kemp has been developing the Virtual Tour programs with this being our fifth year.  In conjunction with Region 9, KFDX, and our many talented artists, we are able to bring you artistic tours through the use of technology directly to your classroom.  Your students participate interactively via video feed: they’ll have the opportunity to listen to an expert on many different topics and also be given a chance to ask questions in real time.

OCTOBER 52pm-2:50pm

OCTOBER 5, 2pm-2:50pm: This month we go to Fort Richardson in Jacksboro, where they take historical reenactment very seriously.

Fort Richardson has had many “crossroads moments” in its history. Join us as we discuss the founding of the fort, some of the skirmishes with local tribes, as well as the famous Lost Battalion from WWII. This park is truly alive with history, and it’s even more so for their big reenactment days- such as November 2nd -4th – Battle for Fort Richardson when up to 300 people from more than 10 states help breathe life into the history of the fort by reenacting what a day in the life of a post-civil war soldier would have been like!

Join us for the live interactive tour or ask your Region 9 coordinator about recorded copies of our tours.
