Region 9 Distance Learning and Virtual Tours Programs

Virtual Tours

Educational Field Trips Without Leaving School

The Kemp has been developing the Virtual Tour programs with this being our fifth year.  In conjunction with Region 9, KFDX, and our many talented artists, we are able to bring you artistic tours through the use of technology directly to your classroom.  Your students participate interactively via video feed: they’ll have the opportunity to listen to an expert on many different topics and also be given a chance to ask questions in real time.

SEPTEMBER 72pm-2:50pm

This month, we sit down with Humanities Texas and the Texas Archive of the Moving Image to discuss their projects to collect the stories of Texas via the History Harvest and Texas Film Round-Up programs. They were in Wichita Falls in August, so we’ll soon have access to stories from our collective past. These pictures and videos are made available to us to use in our studies and to help us understand what life was like in both the distant and the near past!

Region 9 Distance Learning

Art Lessons in Your Classroom

This program provides arts education in classrooms via internet video feed: students and teachers are able to interact with the instructor in real-time, giving your students a valuable addition to their learning day.

If you’re a teacher looking for more information, please visit the Region 9 website or give Christine Heidebrecht a call at The Kemp (940-767-2787).
