“With Points of View, I sought to capture textural tones of the rural world, with paintings that exhibit close and distant perspectives. Abstracted outdoor imagery is created using encaustic, cold wax/oil mediums, and other materials including beeswax, linseed oil, and tree resin– underscoring a connection to nature. The wax, with its suspended pigments, creates translucent layers that provide a look into featured environments, both near and far.” ~Jane Cornish Smith
