Willetta Crowe: October 12 - December 15

Eye of the Beholder: Images from North Texas & Beyond

The latest exhibit in the Galleria at The Forum features Nocona photographer Willetta Crowe. Willetta works in the rural corners of Texas, celebrating nature, community, and a disappearing way of life in Texas. She developed an eye for visual storytelling through her 25-year career as an English teacher and during her time as a newspaper graphic artist in the heyday of the Wichita Falls’ Times-Record News.

Willetta’s photography has earned recognition. Most recently two of her pieces were selected to be part of Texas Photography Society’s exhibitions: 2018 FotoTexas II Show in Alpine, Texas, and their 31st Annual Members’ Only Show in Austin. Another photograph was chosen for Texas Tech’s International Cultural Center’s Creating Global Kitchens Exhibition in Lubbock, Texas. She was awarded Best of Show in the 2015 State Fair of Texas photography contest, as well as, second place, and in 2016 first place and second place SFOT. She has been a two-year participant of Cowboy True.

The Galleria is in the Forum building located at 2120 Speedway, Wichita Falls, TX 76308.  Call for further information: 940-766-3347 or email galleries@artscouncilwf.org.
